‘ Why your child  should start with Inline skates and not quad skates?

Parents often come to me and say , “Other skating coaches have suggested us to start with quad skates.

But I suggest to directly start with Inline Skates.

Read further and I guarantee to open your mind to make your child start with Inline Skates.

Look at my skating journey: started with beginners skates, then quad skates, and finally, after 5 years, switched to inline skates.

Here's the secret – coaches recommend quad skates to make more money by selling new gears every six months.

How many of you have invested in Roller skates and later after 6 months we’re told to reinvest in Inline skates?

And now your child’s roller skates are just sitting in one corner of your home gathering dust.

Understand the basic difference:

-Inline skates have wheels in a line, great for speed, while quad skates have wheels paired for better balance, making them seem ideal for beginners.

-But going against the norm, starting with inline skates is not just possible but beneficial, especially for neurodivergent athletes. They give more stability with higher ankle support.

Here are more points for you to consider:

1. The skate material:

-Both hard plastic and trainer-like material work well.

-A roller-skate oven can shape a plastic boot for a comfy fit, challenging the idea that trainer-style boots are always more comfortable.

2. Speed and maneuverability:

-Inline skates are fast, quad skates are maneuverable.

-Each type suits different sports.

My simple recommendation:

-For neurodiverse children, starting with inline skates is a quicker path to learning balance, saving time.

-It encourages them to dive into skating, skipping the usual step-by-step approach and embracing the real balancing skills.

Until next Wednesday!
